Child’s Identification Day

The Bay City Department of Public Safety is hosting a Child’s Identification Day on Saturday, February 22, 2014 from 10 am – 1 pm at the Law Enforcement Center located at 501 Third St., Bay City. Your child will have their photograph and fingerprint taken, along with their pertinent information such as height, weight, hair, eye color and date of birth. This information will then be printed out on a white plastic card, similar to a drivers’ license. This card will then be given to the parent or guardian of the child for safe keeping. This information can then be quickly shared with law enforcement, media, and various child protection/child search group in the event a child goes missing. (Please note that information obtained to produce child ID cards is not stored in the computer system.)

Funding for this system was provided by the Bay Area Community Foundation Youth Advisory Endowment Fund.
